RUN ABLE

WE ARE SURE YOU WILL HAVE MANY QUESTION, ANY WE CAN'T ANSWER BELOW WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER IF YOU JUST HIT THE BIG ''CONTACT'' BUTTON.

WHAT IS THE TERRAIN?
Depends on the event, see the events webpage for further details...

WHAT IS A RELAY TEAM?
We welcome relay teams at some of our events.  A Relay Team is where two or three friends, family or work colleagues work together and share each of the stages of the Marathon.   For example, one person does 10k section, one person does 10k and one person does the remainder. You decide where you will change over along the course (we can advise but its your choice) Please note it can be two or three people sharing the marathon, and you can share the stages anyway you like, so long as it is only one person per stage.  Taking part as a relay team can be a great introduction to the sport, and a great way to share the excitement and the fun.

WHAT KIT DO I NEED TO BRING ON THE DAY?
There are several things that you will need on the day to help you to perform your best. Each event will have its own needs. The following list is just a suggestion of what we have found useful - talk to other athletes, runners and or join a local club who will be able to give you some great advice and develop a list to best suit you. * Warm/suitable clothes for prior to and after the event. * Safety pins - e.g. for race numbers * Race numbers - pinned/attached to your race t-shirt/top or race belt, and any medical conditions clearly written on the back of your number. You will need to show your race numbers for the duration of the event and at prize giving   Map of how to get to the event venue.

Mandatory kit
Unless the weather forecast is very bad there is no mandatory kit however if the weather forecast is bad (blizzards, heavy rain/winds etc) full body cover (long sleeve windproof top & bottoms) will be required. We will try and notify you by text & or email if we are expecting this but it is suggested you bring it just in case, you can always leave it in your car or with luggage storage, if you do not need it.

HOW CAN I CHECK RACE RESULTS?
Results will be published within two days after the race ends, on our website under the 'Event Results'. On the day results will be available from the Race Results centre - Somewhere near the Finish Line. we may even email result to you but we cant promise this!  It is your responsibility to visit the website if you want them in a hurry!

CAN UNDER 18-YEAR OLDS ENTER YOUR EVENTS?
We are sorry but due to Child Protection and Insurance restrictions, we do not currently allow any under 18-year olds to enter our events. (unless otherwise stated on the events page) But keep in touch or drop us an email as this might be changing.

CUT OFF TIMES?
Cut off times are final they are not negotiatable they are there for your and our safety so please do not put us in the awkward position of having to justify them to you.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANY FORMS WITH ME?
No, at registration you will need to provide your name and address details & an emergency contact. You will also need to provide proof of UKA club affiliation if you are using it.

ARE THERE ANY WATER / FEED STATION?
The following is to be confirmed, depending on each event, but use as a guideline for now.  water / feed stations are manned by volunteers (many from local running clubs, the WI and the local community)
Key points to remember:
  • Don't crowd around at the start of the drinks stations - Grab your drink and keep moving!
  • If you are going to stop, look behind you and move to the side.
  • Don't suddenly stop in the middle of the station or anywhere on the course.
  • Don’t take more than one water. Remember the people behind you.
  • Don't drink it all. Take a few sips at every station, but don't overdo it.
  • Try to hit the rubbish bags with your bottle or discard your bottle carefully. Look where you're placing it and think of others and the enviroment.
  • Please if you drop your sausage leave it and collect s fresh one on your second lap! (lets see who is reading!)
  • Be careful at all times. It’s easy to trip over a bottle or bump into another runner.

I AM UNABLE TO COMPETE - CAN I GIVE MY PLACE TO ANOTHER PERSON?
The simple answer is NO, it causes far too many issues with registration both prior too and on event day, causes issues with timing & results and as a result means we no longer offer this as an option. Please don't ask!

WHERE DO I PARK?
Most venues have limited parking but we often arrange alternative parking less than ten minute walk from the start & registration area, see relevant event for details. also All our evenst are situated within a 10 min walk from the nearest train station.

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE PRIZE GIVING?
The prize giving will be in the event centre or outside (weather permitting) at about TBC.
