The Descent 2

Booth Wood Reservoir → Sowerby Bridge
10km | Net downhill course

After the success of The Original Descent, we’re taking things up a notch… by going even higher.

The Descent 2 starts high above Calderdale at Booth Wood Reservoir (975ft) and drops all the way down to Sowerby Bridge (252ft) over a fast, scenic 10km route.

That’s a total descent of over 700ft — making this one of the most satisfying downhill runs you’ll ever take on.

What is The Descent?

The Descent is a simple idea:

Start high.
Finish low.
Run downhill.

No gimmicks. No loops. Just a point-to-point journey from moorland reservoir to town centre, following trails, tracks and paths that flow naturally downhill.

It’s about:

  • Speed

  • Simplicity

  • Scenic routes

  • And that rare feeling of being pulled all the way to the finish

Course Overview

  • Start: Booth Wood Reservoir

  • Finish: Sowerby Bridge

  • Distance: 10km (6.2 miles)

Why The Descent 2?
